Sunflowers 05:33
I don't believe in science, no. It makes no sense to me. I'd rather substitute reality with what my mind perceives. You might say I'm nonsensical, or way around the bend, but let me reassure you, what I see isn't just pretend. Take sunflowers for example, standing lean and tall. Periscopes of Mother Earth, through them she sees all. With every single sunrise, they turn east. And I wonder why, wonder why, wonder why, wonder why, wonder why every time, every time, every time, every time, every time that a new day breaks, all the sunflowers turn their heads. I've searched and I've searched but the answers aren't in any books I've read. And I'd love to know what really makes them grow. Now keep in mind the so-called strange way I see life. I've always pictured sunflowers as givers of advice. "She loves me, she loves me not." Just maybe you once had thoughts of doubt, but those sunflowers got you out. You could be the one that comes along in your white lab coat and say I'm wrong, but I won't take the time to listen because I'm stubborn as a mule. You won't change what I think. I told you already, science means nothing to me. And with every single sunrise, they turn east. And I wonder why, wonder why, wonder why, wonder why, wonder why every time, every time, every time, every time, every time that a new day breaks, all the sunflowers turn their heads. I've searched and I've searched but the answers aren't in any books I've read. And I'd love to know what really makes them grow.

about

This EP marks a huge step forward in the development of our band. It was our first experience in a real professional studio setting. It was the first time we recorded songs that had truly been written as a group. It was also a very strenuous month of tracking and mixing. Tensions between all of us rose almost to the point where we broke up - but we managed to push through and it turned out to be incredibly rewarding. Sunflowers was eventually picked up for rotation by a local radio station. By the time we played our customary church-hall headliner in Wilmington that August, we got to experience an entire audience that had come for us, and were singing along with our music. This EP will probably be what we will be remembered for by anyone who was around to hear it.
