I don't believe in science, no. It makes no sense to me.
I'd rather substitute reality with what my mind perceives.
You might say I'm nonsensical, or way around the bend,
but let me reassure you, what I see isn't just pretend.
Take sunflowers for example, standing lean and tall.
Periscopes of Mother Earth, through them she sees all.
With every single sunrise, they turn east.
And I wonder why, wonder why, wonder why, wonder why, wonder why
every time, every time, every time, every time, every time
that a new day breaks, all the sunflowers turn their heads.
I've searched and I've searched but the answers aren't in any books I've read.
And I'd love to know what really makes them grow.
Now keep in mind the so-called strange way I see life.
I've always pictured sunflowers as givers of advice.
"She loves me, she loves me not." Just maybe you once had thoughts
of doubt, but those sunflowers got you out.
You could be the one that comes along
in your white lab coat and say I'm wrong,
but I won't take the time to listen
because I'm stubborn as a mule. You won't change what I think.
I told you already, science means nothing to me.
And with every single sunrise, they turn east.
